

The PSE&SSF is recognized by the Federal Internal Revenue Service and the State of Washington as a 501-c-3 Charity. It is composed of active and retired scientists, engineers and related professionals who volunteer without compensation. The PSE&SSF also has a charity score of 93% and a Four-Star rating as noted on the Charity Navigator's website.
Since 2001, the PSE&SSF has awarded six hundred and seventeen scholarships to high school and college students throughout the Puget Sound area to pursue education in science or engineering. The awards ranged from $500 to $5,000 and have totaled over $1,060,000. Over ninety-five percent of every dollar received has gone directly to scholarships. All of any announced scholarship amount goes directly to the awardee. Scholarships include both general and conditional scholarships:
